Did you listen to the Devialet while it was driving Maggie 3.7? Do the Devialet do the "walk into the soundstage" that tube amps do? Do they do the three dimensional imaging? .......

This is just my opinion, but I have been using Media Player Classic and find it superior to VLC. I find it starts up faster, handles subtitles better and plays anything VLC plays. I would not use VLC .......

I use a small 2.5 inch drive for operating systems (Win7 and Linux Mint Debian) and for the applications. Installed a 2TB Samsung disc internally for files, music, pictures, etc. This plays the music. .......

You could buy the "S" version of that quad and thus get it in the 65 watt. The one you mention is 95 watt. It seems as though the 95 watt Intels run about as cool as an AMD 65 watt so I don't know how .......

I don't know why you think you need 64 bit OS, most don't use it. For your purpose there is no particular reason to employ 64 bit. Ram is really cheap right now, but there is no reason to buy 8 megs, .......

I think those are great, but not at that price for me. I can get a 2.5 inch 250G HD for $80. I can't hear it from a meter, it idles at one watt, has a five year warranty, and is fast enough for this o .......

I agree with Andy, rather than go totally passive on the cpu go with a good fan and heatsink. You will likely see a fan turning at 300-500 rpms which will be inaudible. If it gets hot then the fan wil .......

I wouldn't worry about the cpu. You should be able to overclock it to 2.7G just by raising the FSB and not the volts. That should be enough. If it isn't, well you don't have that much invested in the .......

I doubt if any SS tuner could beat a tube type tuner with 'rolled tubes' & coupling capacitor upgrades from a sonic view point I think they can. I have a modified Kenwood KT7500 and it sounds really g .......

No, the Sherwoods don't do the very high treble or deep bass like my modified Kenwood, but then they do other things better than the Kenwood. the Fisher I owned sounded good, but not as good as either .......

Yeh, interesting is a good term, isn't it? I find them somewhat similiar to an RFT 12AU7, maybe a little clinical sounding. The 7916 I find more in the direction of the RCA Cleartop sound. Chris is ri .......

Amperex may have been the only company to make true 7316, but that didn't prohibit other companies from labelling tubes "7316", AFAICT. I have heard and seen, among others, Westinghouse 7316's that ce .......
