Congrats. Having gone through multiple maggie centers before I got my CCR/CC Stand, it was a pretty huge sonic upgrade. I wasn't crazy about the hit on the wallet at the time, but many years and happy .......

Just wanted to follow up here that a quick call to Placette rectified my muting problem. Since mine was one of the earlier models on which they added "mute" as a 6db cut, that's triggered by pressing .......

If you haven't already tried it, try replacing the stock crossover with an active crossover. One of the best upgrades that I had ever made. .......

I've only tried it on 2 players. SCD-222ES in SACD mode and an Arcam CD72 in Redbook. I think the "artifact" seems more pronounced on the Sony, but it is still present on the Arcam. I don't think it's .......

Let me clarify what I said earlier. They do have demos on display of just about anything they sell. i.e., they don't have the MG20.1/R in the store, but they have 3.6s, 1.6s, 12s, MGMC, Martin Logans, .......

IMHO, dipole surrounds work best when placed to the sides of the listening area and firing front/back. There just isn't enough width in my room to have the 2 surrounds far enough apart if they fire to .......

FYI, I found a place that actually carries fuses that are appropriate for use with Maggies (by rating at least). www.allelectronics.com 5 whole sets of fuses for my whole Maggie System (2 3.6s, 2 MMGs .......

Apologies, I'm not very familiar with crossover design and the different types of filters. I looked at the frequency response graphs and noticed that Graph 3 has a significantly larger dip at the cros .......

I see a lot of posts about Bryston, Classe, et al. However, I see relatively few posts about people using Sunfire amplifiers. I admittedly didn't do a lot of comparisons when I bought my Cinema Grand .......

On one hand, I agree with this statement. In particular the MCC1 doesn't really blend with the 3.6Rs that well. OTOH, I find myself listening to more music and watching less movies, so I guess it bala .......

So I took home an Audio Research LS16 and was absolutely blown away. Going from a Yamaha receiver as a preamp, I thought the most impressive changes were the increased dynamic range and the incredible .......

Hmm, I noticed that some manufacturers sell interconnects that have RCA connectors on one end and XLR connectors on the other. How in the world do these work? It makes sense to me for an active compon .......
