YES common sense says that the 2 inches count towards the axially length of the horn. I looked at the JBL 2382A horn. Its axially length is 9.3 inches. Its also an exponential horn. Hornresp calculate .......

The picture shows a JBL 2446. It shows where one attaches a horn. The exit hole in the center of the driver is about 2 inches deep and 2 inches in diameter. Is that hole part of the throat chamber .......

I HAVE MY OWN WOOD WORKSHOP. The custom wood bass horn is 8ft by 5ft by 3ft. 20-150 Hz. The custom wood 105 Hz mid-bass is a 4-sided full length tractrix horn. It will run from 150-700 Hz. So that l .......

A tractrix horn properly designed is designed for the low cutoff frequency. (350 Hz) Every frequency higher starts to lose from the benefit of the horn. Therefore the restriction of 3 octaves per hor .......

When you design a 3-way system taking into account the 3 octave horn rule, and the knowledge that a 350 Hz horn doesn't load properly until a couple of hundred hertz higher (500-550) that would be fin .......

I guess that I should not have just said "conical" horns. I really meant "round" and not 4 sided. I am going to go either exponential or tractrix (But round). So I am guessing that you have a 3 or so .......

Max Cambras pointed me to "inlowsound.com" That site has a horn that runs from 135-900 Hz @ 110db. He also has a Hornresp simulation for what looks like 80-800 Hz @ 116 Hz. So my plans are now to try .......
