That Celestion tweeter is terrific. The Spendor SP1 used it. A friend of mine used to have a pair. The most stable imaging I've ever heard even when haphazardly set up. I doubt you can do much better .......

DMW, Utah Cadences were guitar-centric drivers which made for better hi-fi speakers. They were considered the poor person's Electro Voice. It's kinda amazing to see 60's units now fetching $200 nowada .......

The Ditton 66 is a substantial, but not over-large, 12-inch, 3-way speaker system. From memory, it is about 15" wide, 26-28" high, and 12-14" deep. It is a solid cabinet, and weighs probably about 50 .......

The BC3 is larger, a4-way. It uses a 12" bextrene woofer to about 400 hz, then an 8" mid to 3000(it's the woofer from the BC2 - a slightly higher power handling version of the BC1), a Celestion HF1300 .......

Push pull triode would likely drive the reactive load. But the most you'd get out of PP 300bs is about 28 watts and even less for the 2A3(although it's a better, more linear tube. And on really dynami .......

Had good results driving SL6's with a Hafler DH200 at 130wpc or also very good results with a Nikko Alpha 220 power amp, both these will provide plenty of power to play LOUD. .......

Polk sold jillions of speakers with passive radiators. i had a pair of 10B's. it was pretty good for what it was. pretty sure that the Vandersteen 2 series had a passive radiator and i know those guys .......

Without the FR curves and a SPL meter it would be almost impossible to DIY a notch filter. A good idea but all the notch filters I've heard really KILLED the sound of those drivers. Just seems to add .......

You're looking at an active crossover setup. Personally, ribbons presented more problems then a normal speaker could deal with - within reason! IMHO dump the ribbons and stick with a good paper cone s .......

It is a passive radiator, like a port only more resistance. Celestian used it on the 33 and 66 Ditton models as well and other mfg. you might note were the Kef 104ab, Genesis II, PSB had some models. .......

As an owner of Spendor BC-1's, I would agree. The original poster did not say, but if the amps are single ended, you would have to use the speakers as headphones to get a reasonable volume out of them .......

Ditton was a series of speakers from Celestion. They were very well regarded. There is no listing for the Ditton 22 in Orion. But the Ditton's were not cheap, the Ditton 25 went for more than $700 a p .......
