Be more than skeptical; 100Hz is useless in a midfi and up system unless you have a really sophisticated phase variable crossover. The Panasonic doesn't. Skip it and stick with your sub crossover and .......

DonM, A couple more comments. The speaker impedance affects the sound on the Panasonic XR series. They are no feedback digital amps, so as the speaker impedance rises, the treble also rises I believe. .......

Most of my listening is CDs. With a TOSlink connection to my CDP, the XR50 rocks. I use mine as 6.1HT on the "A" speaker channel and as a serious stereo with my Maggy MMGs on the "B" channel. For $265 .......

The Philips 963sa outputs an upsampled 192hz which the Pany reads and outputs as well as displays. I like the upsampling done through the Pany on all music but only liked it on some music when played .......

I suspect that a number of negative reviews on these Panny receivers could simply be due to a lack of burn in. Most people will not wait for 200 hours of use on a new receiver to judge its performance .......

I have put an IEC adapter and good power cords on my XR50 now. Sounds much better. But on the coaxial input, I think, it is picking up noise. Satellite feed with optical cable sounds really clean. But .......
