If you can fit them in, you're *FAR* better of with the ASC. They should stand 600vdc w/o any complaint, and my experience with several similar ASC has been good. And for $3 each, there's no beating t .......

I won't use the ASC's anymore. I used the 40 uF ones in the Aurora, in the B+ filter for the driver stage. When we began testing the amp with a scope and signal generator, we found that the ASC's sang .......

1200uf. I used 6 of the large ASC's and one 20uf ASC but 6 would be fine. They are fast and liquid. The DC is extremely good after using these caps. I used a short umbilical with a socket on the back .......

The GE is a metalized polypropylene film cap with oil. Same as ASC. THe ASC oil is actually some sort of vegatable oil, and I suspect the GE is too. My linestage has two ASC in the ps filter, Pi type .......

Pat What are you building here? I'd like to see you power those ESL63s with a 2A3 SET amp.. As far as PS caps go,the ASC motor-runs are as good as anyone elses because you are using them in the power .......

Plus the ASC can be top mounted on the chassis. The canned Solen are much more expensive and i don't believe their canned caps have oil inside. I am not sure about that though. They are both metallize .......

Richard, With the ASC's you are going to need like a dual choke input as the noise will be very high. Maybe go with like a 5h/75ma hammond or something and use another ASC after that into the circuit. .......

Three things. One, I doubt that the slightly higher inductance over the stock choke is going to effect the dynamics of the supply much. It will only see that the core of the choke doesn't saturate, an .......

Hi, The couplers are C12, 13, 25, 26 (output couplers) and 1,2,4,5,15,16,18,19 (phono stage). I would go for good film caps here like Multicaps (by Rel-cap), or Dynamicaps. Others like Audiocaps, Ho .......

it depends. I think it was ASC that calculated it by multiplying by 2 to account for positive and negative voltage, then by root 2 for rectification. .......
