Speaker Asylum: Orion listener report by Duke

Siegfried Linkwitz has designed a superb, compact dipole speaker and made the plans available on-line to DIYers.

For those of you who don't know him, Siegfried is the designer of the Audio Artistry Beethoven, winner of Stereophile's "Speaker of the Year" award in 1998.

Siegfried is also the Linkwitz in the "Linkwitz-Riley" filter.

Siegfried's day job is in the computer industry, so most of his audio work has been as a passionate, highly innovative and educated amateur.

His website, linked below, contains literally hundreds of pages devoted to educating us, and including plans for a couple of superb systems, the newest of which - the Orion - is discussed here:
