By the way, if you are having problems with "soundstaging" how do you know it's the turntable? It is more likely to be the speaker/room interface.
Back to VPI: If you are keeping the HW19, go for the PLC. I think the SDS is overkill unless you are going to upgrade to the TNT line. I found the SDS created slightly better imaging & musical timbres, not a larger stage.
