This message serves a dual purpose. First, some time back, I inquired into some opinions concerning TT recommendations. I want to thank everyone who gave input regarding opinions and experiences on this topic, the comments were incredibly helpful. I took the advice given and listened to as many TT as I could, Rega, VPI, Basis, Music Hall, etc... To make a long story short, I ended up buying a Basis 1400 with a RB300 tonearm. I have been thrilled so far but I am now considering cartridges. I had a Grado prestige series(green) cart from my TT that died, and figured that I would eventually upgrade. This leads me into the second point of my post. I would like a cart in the $300 price range that would be a good match. I listen to a lot of bass heavy jazz (1960s and 70s) and want a cartridge that can reproduce a solid bottom end. I like the Grado to some extent, but feel that it lacks detail. My associated equipment is: Audible Illusions preamp (Note: Not the 3A. The manual recommends medium to high output MC or MM
Bryston 3Bst
Snell Acoustics Speakers.
If anyone could offer any insights, opinions, or recommendations regarding what cart would be a good match for me, I would be grateful.
Thank you in advance for your help
Wayne
