Jareb, what you describe, of course, is the B-200YA, the 'A' for tweeter array (or B-200XA if the tweeters are the X version). As you said, it consists of four tweeter pairs mounted on upper and lower brackets so that the eight individual tweets are arranged in a quasi-hempspherical pattern. That was the tweeter setup for the four-woofer systems, starting with the B-310 Concert Grands and including the B-400, the low-boy version of the CG. It's a tweeter arrangement that was ideal for mono, where a speaker system was usually placed in the center of a wall and wide dispersion of highs was desirable.

But it's not the best arrangement for stereo; the vertical row of eight single tweeters (equivalent to the same four pairs) was introduced on the first B-4000 Symphonies in 1961. But the tweeter array continued on the Concert Grands until the B-310B was introduced in '68, with the vertical tweeter row.

Back to your tweeter array: I have never heard of a mix of 200X and 200Y tweets. Many CG's are a mix of various versions of drivers, a result of a seller stuffing the box with whatever he could find that would fill the hole. It is so bad that, when looking at Bozak systems, especially CGs, I carry a flashlight to peer through the grill cloth to see what version of mids and tweets were offered. I can't tell the number of times I have seen paper and aluminum cones mixed.
