Me three - I agree basically with what Nat said.

However, the lack of accurate imaging on systems after about '69 is due to some craziness that infected the company, wherein they were trying to make the systems compete better with the flashier systems. One of the things they did was to reverse the polarity of the midrange, calling it "phase corrected" or something of the kind. The result was to carve a deep notch out of the response on either side of the midrange, where it overlaps with the woofer on the bottom side and the tweets on the top. That makes the midrange more prominent, but only because the midrange is "framed" by missing response on each side. Utter nonsense.

Also, the circuit driving the B-200Y tweeters is bad. The Y tweeters are about 9 dB hotter than the woof and mid, which is OK; gives them some excess highs to play with. But the way the Y tweets are driven results in a lot of screech in the 5 ~ 10 kHz range with very little above.

Those efforts may or may not have made Bozaks more saleable against sound that was in vogue in the '70s. But it seriously compromised the traditional Bozak sound made famous by the early systems.

Over a period of about 15 years I have developed simple corrections to undo the craziness in the xovers of that era. After correction, the systems have dead accurate imaging and are smoother and more full than before. If anyone is interested, rattle my chain.
