Bozaks do have a following, but less vociferous than that of JBL et al. As a Bozak fan, I would suggest that the reason for that is at least partially that Bozaks are closer to neutral in their frequency response than most speakers of their era, so that they are not as distinctive, compared to more modern speakers, as JBLs, Altecs and so on. If you want that west coast sound, you don't have a lot of choice -- if you want neutral, there are many choices. Bozaks also don't have the sort of dynamics that ported and horn loaded speakers do -- unless you have the bigger ones, and lots of power (even though they are efficient enough to sound pretty good even with low power). Nor do they image the way modern audiophiles seem to expect speakers to do -- regardless of whether that sort of imaging is actually natural.
And the bigger ones are awfully expensive to ship, and they don't demand the sort of prices that JBLs etc. do (because of the reasons above) so often they are parted out, which means that there is less opportunity to hear them in their full glory. And finally, the best ones are really big, and even though they are made to look like furniture, enormity is a problem domestically for many people who might otherwise be enthusiastic -- the headbangers for whom spouse acceptance factor isn't an issue are more likely to go for the JBLs and Altecs, and many audiophiles actually want a speaker that looks like an impressive speaker.
I hope you give them a chance to grow on you -- I think you might decide to keep them. Please don't part them out.
