Several companies produced scopes for use in audio systems. They were used in aiding in tuning, signal phase checking and antenna alignment to minimize multipath. If you look at some of the Marantz tuners, the scope is built in. McIntosh made an external sysyem (MI2, MI-3 and MPI-4) for their units. I remember seeing some from Japanese companies but can not rmemeber if they were Technics or Pioneer. The outputs could also be used with a service scope such as an EICO, Heath, Techtronix, etc. for the same purpose.
