You don't have an impedance mismatch. The rule of thumb is that the ratio of the I/P impedance of the driven device to the O/P impedance of the driving device should be at least 10:1; greater is preferable. 75 KOhms I/P and 3 KOhms O/P yields a ratio of 25:1; that's quite comfortable.

It's an oversimplification, but reasonably true that tubes have the advantage in the midrange and the top end, while SS has the advantage in the bass. If you want what tubes offer in the midrange and on top combined with "killer" bass you should try a hybrid preamp. For the reasons mentioned and several other ones too, I use an AVA FET-Valve tube/SS hybrid preamp. IMO/IME, the unit sounds great driving both tubed and SS power amps.
