Hi.

A cheapie & easy way is to add a 5.1K + 5.1K voltage divider before your existing pot of each channel with the full volume pin of the pot hooked up to the voltage divider cente point. This will give you -6dB fixed attenuation.

Change the voltage divider resistors to 7.5K+3.3KR, you will get -10dB attentuation.

These attenuation to stretch up the low volume control range. Chancs are you don't need to change any pots.

PS: the best way is review the overgain of your preamp. May be you want to dispose yr active pre & replace with a passive one.
