How about another 10Y driving a 1:3 IT tranny. If I recall the 10Y has gain of about 8, that would give you a total gain of 8*8*3, or 192x. You could drive it with 2Vpp.

Haven't tried it myself. Jim's project looks cool, though, and I'm tempted to create some all-DHT heavy-metal amplifiers.

What do you think of battery biasing the grids, like Serge Schmidlin's 300B amp? He connects the 300B cathode to ground and puts a stack of 9V batteries in series with the ground of the secondary of his IT transformer, bypassed with a 12uF oil cap.
