Well I think I can qualify on knowing bass. I used to own a set of Infininty IRS Betas (you know the one with separate bass towers that have 4 12" woofers per side with servo feedback control) and there are very very few speakers out there in the world that have the depth(16Hz), control, and shear slam of the Betas. We are talking zero overhang and boom. I still miss them but just didn't have the space for them. It is in fact the only cone bass system I have heard that has the ability to truly get accurate pitch definition on bass and no mud whatsoever (when adjusted properly of course). The Apogees match the speed and pitch definition and are only behind a little when it comes to slam and absolute depth (don't notice this on most music which has little content below 30Hz). The bass on Audio Note speakers is a joke compared to the Betas or the Apogees for that matter.
