and electronic correction!I agree that there is an inherent advantage by eliminating the crossover from the speaker and placing it before the amplifiers. The "electronic correction" that you noted is there to compensate for baffle step loss and to tame the breakup modes of the magnesium cone driver. Anyone using the Seas Excel driver in a passive configuration would have to deal with these issues too (but at a disadvantage as you noted). The woofer configuration in the Orion also requires equalization to offset the natural roll-off due to dipole cancellation.
