Actually, I believe Tom knows the sort of person on this board far better than you Earl. A great many people around here have built Tom's Lab Sub design for HiFi use, however impractical you may consider that to be. And I have built my own bass horns that make the labhorns seem like a boombox by comparison.

Perhaps your "Hi-Fi people and not professionals" might be more accurate over in the General Speakers asylum, but the very nature of this board is esoteric and eccentric. The average Hi-Eff regular tends to be very obsessive and probably all of them have hearing accuity at an extreme that would only shown up as an occasional annomaly in DBT excersizes using a wide cross-section of the public. This group is anything but average so arguements to that effect aren't all that valid here.
