From all the studies that I know of it is masking in the ear that dominates the distortion perception issue, not sensitivity. Thus your arguments don't really apply.

Again from my own work, there is no evidence that LF distortion is more audible than HF distortion. Your example is hueristic and not really supported by concrete data. I think that the existing scientific evidence supports the contrary point of view. But then thats just those dumb Phd's wasting their time again.

Yes controversy is good, its good for people to see that there isn't necessarily clear resolution of these issues, but I don't think that your pulling rank to support your arguments is up to your capablities.
