Pretty much all areas of audio reproduction. Jim was the head of r&d at Carver Corporation after Bob Carver left, and designed the Lightstar II amplifier, a series of affordable amplifiers after that, and the Carver Amazing Loudspeaker. I have a couple of his amps and know others who use them, and have participated in an email group with Jim for some years and had the benefit of his answers to a lot of technical questions.
