Chris, I am not able to comment on the reception capability as I have been using a cable connection for reception. Perhaps a purist may argue that the sound is better via antenna, and I may have been tempted to try this route with the Cambridge had I kept it. Based on my experience with the Rotel, I see no need to try an antenna as the sound quality is very good via cable. Even my family members who do not share my interest in hifi immediately noticed an improvement in sound quality - excitement can definitely be found with the Rotel. The display and design are much more aesthetically pleasing as well. I am surprised by the improvement as I was in the camp that a tuner is probably an undifferentiated product.
Good luck
Frank
