Many thanks to each of you. Strangely enough, no one has suggested Mundorf Supreme Silver/Oil, which has gotten some very flattering comments in other threads. My research shows that the Mundorfs should be the best thing to try in this signal position. Good things have also been said about V-Caps Teflon, Jupiter Beewax and Leclanche.I am going for Mundorf Supreme Silver/Oil vs. Mundorf Silver/Gold for the DAC based on the following impressions of a well-known customer of Mundorf's:
"The Silver/Oil has the warmer and more smooth sound.
They are very similar to well-rehearsed Jensen caps.
It is the optimum cap to sit near the fireside and listen
to nice music.The Silver/Gold has more details and sounds more natural.
So if you want to hear all information that the sound engineer
recorded on the sound storage medium - the Silver/Gold is your cap."
