It will come as a shock to you that many people cannot for the life of them hear this problem even though they own a mega-bucks audio system. Take heart then knowing that whatever front-end component you will upgrade to in the future, at least you already have a neutral and transparent system able to elicit every ounce musical bliss from it.Stereophile recently uploaded an article detailing some tests they made on CD transports and jitter reduction devices like the DTI. Makes for interesting reading:

I hope you don't mind me for writing this, but in this article, it was revealed that sonic improvements from jitter-reduction devices are limited by the fact that their reduced-jitter outputs must still pass through another jitter-inducing interface between their output and the digital processor. In the case of the DTI, although it quantitatively improves some transports and degrades others, it imposes its intrinsic jitter on its digital output signal, and still passes some of the jitter in the incoming data stream. I have only heard the DTI pro in a very limited time, on a friend's set-up, so I can't say if I agree with that.
From my experience, a one-box CD system has always been less susceptable to the sort of jitter induced by digital interfaces between a 2-box system. I have tried a variety of single-box players, and I think the Gamut CD-1 is a tremendous bargain at that price. Ole Lund Christensen has already acknowledged the existense of this track-repeat problem and has promised to work out a solution to eradicate this problem in his upcoming SACD player. If it does, it will be an amazing breakthrough.
Ever heard of the SID?
