It should be an easy test. I don't know whether there's a timestamp in the header of .WAV files but if you compare the two with "comp file1 file2" (from memory, I'm a Mac guy these days) and there's no difference after the first hundred or so bytes, you can assume the data is identical.I get totally different results ripping on the internal drive in my PowerBook to an external Sony firewire drive which IS disconcerting. Same file size though. I'd like to get to the bottom of this before I do many more discs.
