Tuning for frustration?

I understand your counterpoint but, a false optimum? The point is that I don't know what the optimum is for any given cable need. There is too much to choose from and I can only go with what I learn from research and experience. The only other alternative is to be on a never ending quest for perfection (I'm nuts enough, already). This audiophile onion has many layers, and it will show it's skins in time and will say "peel me or live with me". If my criteria brings me a result(s) that indicates "mission accomplished", I would rather rest on my efforts than worry about "what if". It's only when my criteria has shown that my choice(s) have previously unknown issues, then it's time to try something else. Besides, I'm the type of audiophile that is attracted to the idea of finding and staying with a "classic" piece of gear instead of jumping into the new and improved on a regular basis. Cheers :-)
