Hi All,

Personally, I've boiled down the selection of cables and connectors (including power cords and AC connectors) for use in any particular system to the following two bottom-line criterias:

The cable/connector should:

1. Get out of the way of affecting the signal as much as possible without sacrificing sonic enjoyment.

2. Shape the signal in a satisfying manner without sacrificing a level of transparency.

These two seemingly divergent ideas are not conflicting if one considers the amount of time put into the voicing of loudspeakers and amplifiers (there is no such thing as a playback system that achieves an objectively perfect/accurate presentation, IMHO). Inevitable psychoacoustic phenomena is a subjective factor that should not be ignored (including room acoustics).

"Analytical" vs. "Musical" is a fine balance...

Your thoughts?

Cheers, Duster
