It states slightly different info than in some of the other Belden literature pertaining to the 9913 / 9913F. This is the one that i initially found when doing a search on their website. The address that you initially posted wouldn't work.

As i've seen on their website, they list and show standard 9913 as being a stranded conductor ( two strands ). The original 9913 used ONE solid conductor with the spiral wrap shown in the pictures being a run of polyethylene dielectric to try and keep the wire centered in the air gap. The problem with this is that should the cable be bent, it might be in the area the gap area that is unsupported by the spiral wrap. This could cause SEVERE impedance bumps and was one of the reasons that they changed the design configuration and geometries of the cable. This is true regardless of what Belden says now. Should you need further proof of this, i do have some Belden 9913 laying around here that i could send as a sample to you. Sean
