OTOH, i borrowed Callaway's HMS cables for a week in my system and while very good for the money they were clearly short of the detail, refinement, speed and openness of the Valhalla interconnects in my system. the HMS Grand Finale speaker cable were not in the same universe as my Transparent Opus speaker cable.

keep in mind that my priorites are neutrality and openness.....things the Valhalla has in spades compared to "almost" any other cable.

that being said, i would recommend HMS as a contender in it's price range.....it did nothing wrong and was enjoyable and certainly was not edgy or strident in any way. in a solid state/cd based system the HMS might be a safer bet than a cable using a silver conductor. i know this is a generalization that doesn't always apply but it should be considered.
