I have the following setup:

Toshiba 3750 DVD with digital out
2m Straight wire digital cable
Denon 5800 A/V receiver
(insert interconnect)
Bryston 4BST
4m Kimber Bifocal-XL speaker cable
Magneplanar 3.6 speakers

I tried out Cardas Golden Reference (too much empasis on upper-mid/low treble) and van den Hul "The First Ultimate" (wonderful in all ways but 2 -- lacks bass slam though has low bass -- and sucks out the upper mid/low treble).

I may still get the van den Hul if I don't find anything else.

My next 2 targets are:

The Chord Company Anthem
Harmonic Tech Pro-Silway Mk II

I only need 0.5 metre if I can get it. I would like to ask opinions on the Pro-Silway. What I am looking for is extended high with NO high-frequency hash. The vdH was great at that. I want detail, but want the midrange to sound smooth and silky. Bass should be extended but tight. And tonality should be natural, without emphasizing the upper mid/lower treble like the Cardas seemed to do, but without sucking it out like the vdH. Soundstage should be great, and it should be listenable over long periods without feeling that anything has been lost.

I can't search the world for every type of cable, so I'll settle for thoughts on the Pro-Silway mk II or any other cables in the HT line.

I have read some great reviews of the Pro-Silway mkII. Most are complimentary. However I did find one professional review of the original Pro-Silway, and it said it had an empasized high-frequency range, and a call to HT confirmed that this was to compensate for American speakers that often have an emphasised midrange. Well, I don't! I need the same or more mids, not less. But I like the detail in the highs.

Experiences please? Any comments on Chord ICs would help too.
