The irony....

The irony is that, it the mass producer that poses the least risk to the consumer. When was the last time you heard of someone having a serious issue with a Panasonic, Sony or Toshiba. While it is rare, if something does go wrong, it is usually within the first month and Circuit City or Best Buy or whatever simply hands you a new one without question. Problems seldom develop far enough down the road that you even need to take advantage of the warranty and , if you do, that's usually a quick and painless procedure as well. Most importantly, when a big companies technology has moved forward, and repair of a product under warranty is no longer viable, they simply hand you a brand new next generation model. When my $200 Antec Phantom PC power supply went belly up after 18 months I was faced with the problem that the company no longer made that model. When I was skeptical of the choice of power supply they offered as a replacement they immediately shipped me a top of the line Quatro 850. How's that for service?
