Actually, I should have made it clear in my original post that, what infuriated me the most, was the realization that the company was taking advantage of the good will and patience I demonstrated for months and treating me like a sucker. Then they turn around and blame the whole thing on the fact that I finally lost my temper. With people like that you are damned if you do and damned if you don't. The bottom line is that it wouldn't matter what I did, they would have found a way to deflect blame on to me, the customer. That is the way of disreputable companies the world over.

Ps The fact that the hi end is rife with shysters is the reason that I've slowly but surely lost interest in the hobby. My goal is to simply put together an "adequate" collection of components that is satisfying enough that I can avoid renewed forays into the audio world for as long as possible. If I do need to buy equipment, I now lean towards mass produced mid-fi whenever possible. Companies like Parasound, Rotel, Paradigm, Bryston etc offer good value, quality, quality control and service that is miles above that of the average small hi end audio boutique.
