The E-406 is warmer and sweeter, but very precise. The E-408 is a more analytical amp that brings you a bit closer to being in the recording studio.Although my beloved E-202 sounds more like the E-408, I prefer the E-406 for it's greater balance between accuracy and musicality. Keep in mind that their actual sonic differences are minimal.
