The Basik supply really benefits from the isolation transfomer too but the Naim-like phase shift and voltage drop circuit seems to work better IMHO. Althought I will admit like most things in this crazy audio world they each have their merrits. I've never measured the voltage output of the Basik but it does have a smaller resistor for voltage drop and uses much larger capacitors in both parrallel and series so it's probably around 85 volts like the other Linn supplies. I did try a step down transformer on it and even with just a little reduction it really suffered. In the Linn FAQ there is second DIY power supply that really resembles more of a highbread between the Naim and Basik supply. I thouhgt I might give it a try over Christmas.
