Frequent skipping problem...need help, also..where to get stylus re-tipped?

I have a Lenco L75 with a Linn LV-X Basik arm. I've verified tracking force and anti-skate with a Shure test lp. I've used a turntable basics protractor to set up the Shure M75ED cartridge. It seems like my setup is pretty unforgiving to even slightly worn records or any skips. It skips frequently. I'm tracking at 1.5 grams. My old cartridge was a Grado Blue. It performed miserably on the test lp and I heard frequent mistracking, yet it never skipped. I was tracking that one at 2 grams. I wonder if it didn't skip because of the increased weight. The only thing I am not certain about is the condition of my stylus. The cartridge was used when I put it on the table. Any ideas what sort of things could be causing a skipping issue? It seems to happen most at the middle and toward the end of the record. I thought Shure cartridges were supposed to play anything. Also, where is the best place to have my original stylus re-tipped? Thanks!
