RE: Best stylus for 45's

45 singles at home won't sound the same as on the radio as the station will probably have compressed the signal. This is still true today.

45s from the 50s and 60s were often remixed to make them sound louder on portable record players. So on a modern hi-fi without adjustable EQ or tone controls they just won't sound right if you're looking for a hi-fi sound.

If you've got an arm that has interchangeable headshells then I'd get a dedicated cartridge for 45s such as a Stanton 500 or Shure M44 as that's what many radio stations used. A stock Denon DL-103 is also a good 45 cartridge if you've got deep pockets.

Stylus size depends on the condition of the records and what they were played with before and you can only determine this by trial and error.
