Mike, if you have the TP16 arm it's 16.5 grams, definately on the heavier side, if your arm has the removable arm wand it should be 7.5 grams. I'm using an old Denon DL-110 beater on mine (TP 16) right now with good results. Also, check the arm bearings, mine were sloppy/loose, a common problem.
