I've got the Elberg/VAD Lyd mark 2 version which is essentially the same as the mark 3 shown. Most of the time using the appropriate EQ for each record works really well and although the difference can be very subtle going back to RIAA sounds "wrong". But some records don't play ball and experimentation is needed.
It cost just over £1K GBP nearly 6 years ago. It's the most significant piece of hi-fi I ever bought, with the right TT I can listen properly to almost anything flat with a groove in it. Sounds very good with stereo records as well.
IIRC the British Library use them, if that's any recommendation.
