Welcome Licorice Pizza (LP) lovers! Setup guides and Vinyl FAQ.

Slow down - you can't rush a new vinyl setup.....

as the others have said you're changing things that may not need changing.

From looking at your systems it's clear that you are new to vinyl. As I said above don't rush it, get used to what you have already. Then you can make informed decisions about what needs to be changed, if any, based on what you like or dislike about your turntable/arm/cartridge.

I'd also consider getting an MM cartridge to start with and leaving the stock arm in place for now. That'll let you audition different carts by simply swapping headshells before trading up to a LOMC if you feel you need to. And changes should be incremental so that if an upgrade path doesn't work you can backtrack to each stage.

Only you know what your ears like - the guys here can guide you once you know what you are after. And that takes lots of listening. Buy used vinyl as well - there's so much out there that's cheap.

It's good when it goes around to make a sound.
