RE: Stanton 500 vs Shure V-15 III vs Nagaoka MP-11

78s and LPs are different animals and one cartridge in a fixed headshell arm isn't always the route to getting the best out of both. Also, constantly swapping styli out causes rapid wear and strain to the cartridge body.

You're right - the V15III and 500 are in different leagues. The Shure is a truly great cartridge for LPs, the Stanton is a good workhorse for vinyl but with the right stylus it's great for 78s.

You have really good cartridges already so I'd stick with them and seriously think about changing the Rega arm for one with detachable headshells. You can keep the V15 for LPs and 500 for 78s in separate headshells without compromising the quality of one for the other.

I used to use a Rega RB250 for LPs and 78s but replaced it with a SME3009II - it's a lot easier to swap headshells than styli.
