You will find differing points of view from the people on this board.Some prefer the Grado's, while others prefer Shure. Me? I've used Grado and Shure and prefer the Shure in most areas.
However, I'm comparing the Grado Reference line with the V15VxMR. Only you can decide which sound you prefer, but I doubt anyone here will tell you that a Grado Silver or Gold will come close to matching a V15.
The Shure V15 is lush. If you find it dull then the Grado's are not for you either. If anything they are even warmer, plus you will lose tracking ability.
Your best option may be to save your pennies and invest in a Dynavector 10x4.
