Excluding portable use as it makes sense to copy to iPods / MP3s and to CDRs for in-car use.
Having ripped stacks of vinyl and shellac to hard disk and CDR I never listen to the copies and always play the records. Compilations? - I'd rather get the records out and play them - iTunes shuffle on the PC never gets used. As I rarely stay away from home on business now my iPod sits unused in a drawer.
So I've stopped ripping except to make safety copies of acetates and damaged shellac that's rare/difficult/too expensive to replace. And the cases of CDRs for the car are lost in the house somewhere - if I want to listen to music in the car I've got BBC Radio 3.
As for cassettes I've just thrown out most of them and I suspect many of my CDRs will go as well to make room.
Anyone else feel the same or am I alone, sad, cynical, bitter and twisted?
