RE: KAB SL-1200MK2 w/ AT-150MLX: Benefit from Sumiko or LP-Gear Headshell?

The Sumiko/LP Gear/Nagaoka headshell is great for cartridges that are heavier trackers, and the adjustable azimuth is useful. I think they are a bargain as well.

I guess they may not work well with your AT-150MLX, mine are for my 78 cartridges and they have tightened up the sound a lot, but at 3-5 grams VTF.

Similar, lighter, but dearer, shells I use alongside the Sumikos are the Shelter 1011L and the wooden Yamamotos. The Boxwood HS3 has made my Shure V15III/SAS sing beautifully in an SME3009II arm . The African Ebony HS1A has also worked wonders on an AT-3100XE moving coil. Previously I only used SME shells.

Used, the ADC cast shell is also very good.

If you're happy with the sound of your shell, it may be worth changing the cartridge leads if they're the stock ones and then leaving well alone.
