RE: Nice review

In the past I haven't paid attention to Shure cartridge loading as I've been lucky with the sound. Or I can't hear properly. However, I recently put an SAS stylus into a V15II and couldn't get the sound right in either system, even after experimenting with VTA. Fantastic bass, mid-range and ambience, but the treble was lacking, something I've not experienced before with a Shure - I know that it's a classic Shure trait.

I've also just swapped the location of the TTs in the mono system and the G88/SME now runs through 3+ metres of interconnect to reach the Leak pre-amp. I tried the V15II first - it sounds much better with the treble and detail well balanced. It's saved me having to build a new pre-amp as I thought that the Leak was incompatible.

In my stereo system I've abandoned two M97xE's due to the stylus - it's cheaper to buy complete cartridges from the US than buy a replacement stylus in the UK - and prefer the sound of an SAS V15III. The Jico might be worth a try in an M97, but I'm happy with the V15III at the moment. I'll wait to see your comments when yours is run in.
