but mainly use retipped M44 carts for 78s which they are very very good at.
They're not subtle cartridges - DJs use them and they can be very bright. The bass is very big.
You can upgrade to a N55E stylus, but get a genuine Shure one - the improved type with flip-down stylus guard (they come up on ebay all the time). The lower tracking force and elliptical tip (2 grams) should tame it.
