If mono is important to you, is EQ and playing only one groove wall if there is damage?

I run an Elberg MD12mk II. Although it includes 78 replay it has a useful set of tools for LPs including 4 EQs. Two channel mono, left groove wall or right groove wall to both channels if one side is more worn than the other. You can also listen to only the vertical element of stereo discs which can help locate damage or inner groove distortion.

It'll also take two TTs or arms, and both are independently switchable from MM to MC with adjustable loadings on the MCs. It has a gain and balance control and comes in a 1U 19" rack case. And it has quite a few LEDs to show what facilities are running. All on the front panel.

Sound quality is such a personal thing that all I will say is that I love it, the only replacement might be if they upgrade it. By my standards it's very musical.

Here's the link. Mine cost just over £1K in 2004, including shipping from Denmark to the UK. Jørgen Vad was very helpful.
