RE: sme 3009 tonearm interconnects

A quick fix is to try ebay for a replacement cable, there's usually a set or two up for auction. I think that SME only supply new RCA-RCA interconnects now for older arms.

SME do an RCA conversion kit, it's still listed, and there are others which will be a lot cheaper. The SME RCA-RCA interconnect I tried had capacitors inside the plugs for capacitance matching and I wasn't impressed with the sound.

On my two 3009s one has a Slatedeck RCA conversion together with Neutrik RCA plugs and sockets and SLC silver cables, the other an Analog Tube Audio RCA conversion, Neutrik plugs and sockets and van den Hul D502 cable. Both are nicely made and despite their different construction it's hard to choose between them. The interconnect is more critical and the SLC silver does it for me.

Good luck.
