I am assuming that you want to build an outboard DC regulated supply, which will bring the greatest improvement. So you need to make sure that you have a DC motor. The Linn FAQ DIY supplies are just the last stage of the supply to correct the phase shift. In front of that you'll need a step-down transformer, rectifiers and regulators. Don't know if there are more details in the Analogue Addicts archives, but they have a search engine so you can check.
The site below has a DIY regulated DIY supply for the Platine verdier, so you can get a feel for what's involved. Again, that's just the regulator stage and it would have to be tailored for the Linn motor.
The transformer wouldn't have to be large because the motor's current draw is small. You could use UF4007 diodes to build a full wave bridge and good quality 'lytics for a filter. Then the regulator stage and finally the phase correction stage from the FAQ.
