Lamond plays Beethoven like no one else I've heard, it's a shock. In his time he was regarded as the Beethoven expert. Once Schnabel recorded Beethoven, Lamond was almost forgotten. I like both Lamond and Schnabel, each tells a different story.
As far as I know it's 78 or CD, he never made to LP. He recorded for HMV, I don't know if they made it to the US. If you can spin 78s I'd go for them. The CDs are good transfers but have been "processed".
