Funny you bring this up, the other night I decided to dig into my SL-1200, I took out the 21 or so screws to remove the rubber bottom section. Once this is off there is another hard (plastic?)molded piece screwed to the cast deck of the table. This middle molded piece seems like it could be a problem from a vibration standpoint. It started the wheels turning, why not remove the rubber bottom piece and the middle molded piece, aply damping material to bottom side and install it into a birch ply plinth?
